Hello!
Thank you for considering us to be your child’s parents. Words cannot express how courageous we think you are for making a wonderful decision to give your child life, one full of love and opportunities. This choice that you have made cannot be an easy one, yet it is truly an admirable one. We know that you will be blessed with many rewards for this selfless act of love. We are so grateful, and we promise to provide for your baby and give that child all that life has to offer. My husband, Greg, and I have tried for almost eight years to conceive a child, three years with medical assistance; yet, we have not been able to do so. It wasn’t until 2003 that we were blessed with a son through adoption. We always knew that we wanted to be parents, yet we could never imagine the joy, love, and infinite contentment we would feel until Aidan came into our lives. (Samuel 1:27) We love being parents so much that we can’t wait to adopt again and add to our loving family.
I am sure you are curious about us; so let me begin by telling you a little about myself. My name is Tamara, and I am thirty-five years old. I have always loved children and have dreamed of becoming a mother all of my life. I was born in a southern state and spent my early childhood years there where I developed a love of family and a love of animals. I graduated from college with a BA, and I got a job teaching. I have been teaching at the same school for twelve years. I have a good education and a stable job that will allow me to provide a wonderful, safe environment for any child. My job has a flexible schedule and hours, one conducive to having a family.
I am a very sociable person. Growing up, besides being a good student, I was involved in cheerleading, track, and various clubs, such as SADD and Key Club. In college I was involved in a sorority, and held many leadership positions within that group. Currently, I am involved in the alumnae chapter of my sorority, which holds family gatherings and hosts charity events often. I have very close friendships that stem from the sorority and a best friend, who I have had a relationship with since we were ten years old. I am also involved in running the beginning teacher program at my school, where I can assist new teachers in being a productive, organized professional. It is rewarding knowing that I am making a difference.
I have always been very musical being involved in choir, vocal lessons, and concerts. I have even sung for a few weddings. Currently, I am learning to play the piano we purchased when we moved into our new home. I also enjoy taking photographs, exercising at the gym, and going to the park with my son.
Greg is thirty-seven years old. He was born in New York, though he didn’t live there very long. His mother and father were born and raised in Ireland. They moved to New York, met there, and were married. When Greg was five, he and his family moved to Ireland for about three years, where Greg developed a love of other cultures. He still has a large extended family in Ireland, and we visit as often as we can. From there they moved back to America where Greg graduated from high school, graduated from college and then graduated from the police academy. He has been a police officer for 12 years and is a sergeant. He has also been a training officer where he has taught new officers techniques for being successful. Greg has a stable job with many benefits and flexible hours.
Growing up, Greg was a good student and an excellent athlete participating in soccer, football, and basketball. In college, he played rugby. Currently he likes playing flag football, darts, and the guitar. He also enjoys going mountain bike riding. Most of all, he enjoys time with Aidan. He is a hands-on father who participates in every aspect of Aidan’s life, even being involved in late night feedings and diaper changing when Aidan was younger.
Greg and I met in 1995. We met a restaurant through a common friend. I had come from a school football game and Greg was there with friends. We were immediately drawn to one another. One week later, we went on our first date to a great seafood restaurant. The following evening I arrived home to find one long-stem red rose on my door step. We dated for three years and then were engaged. We were married in 1999. We had a magical wedding with all of our family and friends present. We still have a wonderful, loving relationship; we are very close friends and spend a lot of time together. We have a beautiful four-bedroom home with a yard and a pool. It is located in a family neighborhood, a block away from a park. We both are very family oriented. Family gatherings are most often held at our home. We have very good relationships with our parents and they are in close proximity so we get to see them often. They cannot wait to be grandparents again. Our siblings (Greg’s two brothers and one sister and my brother) will make great aunts and uncles, and their children will welcome a new cousin into the family with open arms. Our son, Aidan, cannot wait to be a big brother.
Aidan is an amazing 3 ½ year old. He is very intelligent; he loves to read books and sing songs. He knows the alphabet, shapes, and colors. He can also count to thirty, and he really enjoys learning. He is very active and has a great love of the outdoors. Soccer and baseball are a few of his favorite sports. He is currently learning how to swim and loves being in the water. Aidan is very affectionate with others. He loves to play with his cousins and friends, and he shares very well, enjoying the interaction with those around him. He has a great sense of humor and a laugh that is infectious. He cannot wait to share his love of life with a sibling.
He love animals. Growing up on or near a farm, we both have had various pets over the years. We now have a sweet, well-behaved Cocker Spaniel named Liberty. She has the most benevolent temperament. She absolutely loves children. She and our son are the best of friends.
We attend church and have a strong belief in God; we feel it is important to have a strong foundation built on Christianity. You can rest easily knowing you have placed your child in a wonderful loving environment with a family full of love and a family waiting to provide a promising future for your baby
We are honored that you are considering us to be your child’s parents.
We will be sure to raise that precious baby knowing that his birthmother is a wonderful, selfless woman who loved him/her very much. Thank you for your gift of life to your child and to us.
