How To Adopt!
Part 4

OK! You have joined an adoption registry but have not had a birth mom contact you. You have a great web page with your Dear Birthmom letter and family photos. You have listed your web page URL on all the search engines and placed ads online. Yet you are still waiting. WHY?

Well I have a found a few possible reasons for this.

1.  It may not be God's timing for you yet. Pray! I know we had to wait for just the child God has chosen for us.

2. Are you narrowing your search too much? I have found that many birth moms do not like it when families specify ONLY a certain gender or certain race. Prayfully  consider increasing your options. We were looking for a biracial baby boy but I put any race any gender on our listing. God brought us a Caucasian baby girl and she is a perfect fit for our family. Her birth mom did not know what her gender was until birth. We would have missed out on this blessing had I specified. There are so many minority children waiting for families. These are healthy newborns.

3. Are you following up every lead? When you get a lead for a child other than what you are looking for are you contacting that professional to see if possibly they have other situations they are looking for families for. Many of them will allow you to list with them for free or a minimal application fee.

If you have not joined our registry yet and are not getting our  adoption situation leads you are missing out on a real networking opportunity. Be sure to sign up at http://www.preciouskids.org/adopt/registery.html
